Pain in left leg and arm

I have had a strange pain in my left arm and leg for about a week now. I originally went to the Dr.'s last week due to an ear ache in my left ear. I was given Apo-Cefprozil - two days later my leg felt weird ( by the achilles tendant) -I shrugged this off as I have recently began running a lot. The next day my toes were tingling and the pain was also in my arm ( feels like carpal tunnel). My first thought was that my medication was too strong (500 mg twice a day). I am just over 100lbs and thought this might be too much. When I went to the clinic he said I had the same medicine in Feb. but to stop taking it just in case. The doctor sent me for blood work and a urine analysis. I thought I was amenic...but when I went back he said everything came back fine and that my B12 was at 198 -- and average is 133 and above. He said it could be neurological like MS and to go to my Dr. if it is still there in a week. Now I am stressing about MS. I will be making an apt w/ my family Dr. asap. Any suggestions???

Hi there.

I understand your concern.  Your symptoms presented may indeed be caused by demyelinating conditions such as MS,  however, it is very early and unreasonable to jump to conclusions without a formal neurologist consult or the benefit of imaging studies such as MRI.  Other causes would include stress, which heighten one's perception of pain.  Another possibility is inadequate blood supply or drainage to the painful areas which would need vascular evaluation.  I suggest you discuss all of these possibilities when you meet your doctor but for now I also suggest you relax and avoid stress as much as possible (though I know that may not be totally possible).  Regards and God bless.
