I had a craniotomy 2 years ago for nerve decompression and lost my hearing during surgery. What I also didn't realise is that due to the surgery my balance was affected really badly obviously from damage to the nerve and I am now permanently dizzy and unable to walk unaided.
I also have pain above the incision site which feels like pinching which is somedays so painful I cannot touch my head, lay on the left side and even brushing and washing my hair is difficult.
The operation was meant to improve my life but to be honest it completely ruined it. Although I get on with things and make the most of each day it is extremely difficult to function properly.
I also have a question re. post-craniotomy pain. I had a lemon sized benign brain tumor removed from my right temporal lobe a little over two years ago, and about a month ago, the right side of my skull started aching pretty bad. I haven't bumped my head or experienced any trauma or anything. The timing seems rather unusual given how long it's been since the surgery. Thoughts or comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
