Please answer my question I am two years and undiagnosed

I have a family history of grandmother with progressive ms, two sisters with Ceiliac disease and one sister with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. My problem started when I was on wellbutrin and my dr upped my dose to 300mg I got severe pain in hands. I had never experienced this before, I lowered my dose it stopped. A few months later I went back too 300mg within a day had pain in hands and knee and then swelling in hands feet ankles and knees, stopped wellbutrin symptoms went away in a day. I returned to the low dose 150mg of wellbutrin which I was able to tolerate but stopped because I started to get chronic pressure headache. Off and on I would get sore knee same pain as when I was on the 300mg of wellbutrin. Then after working in the sun for a few days my hands swelled huge, went to dr and was test for RA which was negative but my serum iron was elevated and DR was not sure why. I was tested  hemachromatosis because he said my serum iron had been slightly high previously, test was negative. Over next few days swelling went down but I began to experience muscle stiffness, muscles popping and clicking, burning sensation in skin, muscle twitching, throbbing pain in arms and legs, loss of appetite lost 17 pounds in 2 weeks and could not get out of bed hardly. Shortness of breath and muscle fatigue like crazy, arms both went numb . Severe muscle pain and throbbing in extremities. Found out I was pregnant six weeks later but would not have been pregnant at onset.   I continued to get worse through pregnancy and was positive for ana, but after pregnancy ana was negative. By the time my son was born I could not lift him or barely feed myself, I got a lot worse within a day of delivery. noticed muscle wasting in hands after severe pain after I had my son. After 5 weeks after I delivered my son I started to get stronger. When I was in the hospital after delivery and so weak I could not lift my son they did a ncs which was normal and a spinal tap and mri normal. Now over a year after I delivered my son  he is now 25 pound and I can hold him with one arm so I am stronger but I still have twitching all over including tongue and pain all over especially hands and feet, muscle loss on palms of hands and bottoms of feet, both my fingers and toes are skinnier looking and more tappered looking, I get bald spots on my tongue that come and go, I still have the sensory issues but my mucles are deteriorating. Swallowing feels weird, my fingers are crooked and I have severe memory problems. I feel like I have tunnel vision, my peripheral vision is poor, I no longer drive. I had clonus when I was pregnant which was sustianed and since after delivery I do not have it but have brisk reflexes. I have had a recent mri of brain which was normal. I had an emg of one arm and facial muscles which was normal. Now neurology does not know what I have so after seeing 6 neuro's they sent me back to reumatologist because neuro could see my skin is shiny, my fingers are tappered and I have discolorstion (redness) hands and feet, all tests at the reumatologist where normal. I don't know what to do I have had every test possible and the doc's know something is wrong but no one seems to want to keep searching for answers meanwhile my health deteriorates. I was the picture of health. Jogged, mountain biked active and now I can't do a lot of exercise only short walks because of muscle fatigue, now you can see the twitching especially in my legs. Could my reaction to Wellbutrin have triggered this. Please do you have any ideas of what this could be? My fore arms are like twigs I have the atrophy of als and sensory problems of ms. Specialists just hmmmm ans haw and I have to push for all of the tests because there seems to be no concern of my illness. Thanks for any suggestions on what this could be.

Have you ever seen muscle wasting of the hands in fibromyalgia. Would I be more prone to an auto immune disease because two of my sisters have celiacs and there is also a sister with rheumatoid arthirtis and lupus? Thanks

Hi,

Muscular dystrophy is characterized by progressive muscle weakness and wasting, poor balance, frequent falls, and muscle contractures which can cause bending of fingers and toes.
Usually there are no sensory deficits and twitching in MD.

Hi,

It is possible that your symptoms are due to fibromyalgia. It is characterized by chronic wide spread pain, muscle aches and spasms, and muscle twitching.

Other causes like peripheral neuropathy, myositis, and muscular dystrophy cannot be ruled out.
Please discuss this with your treating doctor. Since all your neurological and nerve conduction tests are normal it does not seem to be a neurological problem.
