Post craniotomy jaw enlargement

G'day everyone

My father had neurosurgery ( Craniotomy -skull not replaced) in year 2006 and after that he had few issues (pus formation) immediately after surgery which they gain operated his skull. After a long struggle slowly he lost vision in one of his eyes which is below the operated area and now the other one getting worst (from year 2010).

The second problem started few months ago were he is not closing his mouth, while drinking something he spill all over his shirt. for the whole day he has his tongue out side  his mouth to compensate that.
I don't know is that a common issues after post Craniotomy, if so It would be pleasure if some could suggest me in this issue or any treatment possibilities.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Check to see if he has facial nerve palsy. This can cause inadequate closure of the eye, drooping of the mouth and dribbling of saliva. Treatment depends on the severity. Some cases are mild and do not require treatment as the symptoms usually subside on their own within 2 weeks.  For others, treatment may include medications and other therapeutic options. Discuss this with your consulting doctor.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
