Posture related Tingling?

Anyone know if sitting with tightened and hunched shoulders at a computer for 8-10 hrs a day, for 6 months can cause  diffuse tingling sensations in the body??  I'm talking face, arms, stomach, back, hands all tingling  with little electrical sensations with the exception of early morning right after I wake up or if I choose to only stand during the day and avoid sitting. Has anyone ever experienced anything similar? I was first suspicious that this was a side effect of a chronic pinched sciatic nerve I've had for years but docs tell me neuropathy can't travel UP the spine.   If only I had my 18 yr old body again!

Much thanks for any thoughts

Hi,
Prolonged sitting in front of the computer leads to a pinched nerve in the neck . An improper posture compresses the spinal nerves and thus causes muscle stiffness and tingling . Please go for an MRI spine to see if there is a compression of the spinal nerves and consult a neurologist for the management . Please take small breaks in between at work , have a good sleep at night and go for stretching exercises daily .Physiotherapy is very important to relieve such symptoms . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !

If you have pinched sciatic nerve, it is possible that you also have pinched nerves in the neck and thoracic spine. Sitting typically aggravates pain from pinched nerve. CT or MRI of the spine would be needed for diagnosis.

Just have some days without sitting - go and have some short walks. If this will help, it speaks for pinched nerves. If not, go and see a neurologist.
