Soft lump on head???

I just came back from Guatemala and discover a soft lump on the right side of my head, it does not hurt, it is soft, also, the other thing  is happening is I am loosing my hair in that section, I am not sure why.
I went to the doctor but they say it could be ringworm, does that looks like ringworm?
Would somebody help me out here, have you guys seen this before?
Thank you and God bless!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
How are you? Was there any trauma in your head? What are other symptoms present? Ringworm is a contagious fungus infection that can affect the scalp, the body, the feet  or the nails. The name comes from the characteristic red ring that can appear on an infected person's skin. Ringworm of the scalp usually begins as a small pimple that becomes larger, leaving scaly patches of temporary baldness. Infected hairs become brittle and break off easily. Yellowish crusty areas sometimes develop and usually appears 10 to 14 days after contact. It would be best to see your doctor for proper evaluation and management. He will examine the site of infection with special tests to reach a diagnosis.

I hope this helps take care and keep us posted.
