Strange viual disturbances

Hi there,

I have been experiencing visual disturbances for the last 3 months - both eyes 24/7.  Worse when I first get up in the morning.  I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  The doctors here in the UK say the 2 are not linked as they have no experience of CFS with visual problems.  Although I can find plenty of info on this on the Internet including on the CFIDS website.  I have had eye tests (normal) seen an opthalmologist (back of eye scan/field test) all normal. They dont want to do any further exploration.

I get; the "visual snow" like TV intereference; lines of light breaking up the picture (all directions), "sparkles", floaters; black marks that I can move by moving my eyes (like organic black threads, they have dots on either end of them) and a general impression that my perception is somewhat out of body/unreal/dreamlike.

Also a lack of tolerence to light - the symptoms are improved but not eliminated by wearing sunglasses (yes even inside)  I can still see this when I close my eyes.

Please help

Hi,

Persisting visual snow can be a symptom of migraine. This possibility needs to be looked into. I would suggest you to discuss this with your treating doctor.

Hope this helps!
