The effects of medication on the CNS & Endocrine system

Hopefully someone will be able to answer this!

I was recently put on Provigil for narcolepsy. I have noticed since taking this med that my body basically wants to shut down around 1pm no matter what I am doing. I am wondering if this is due to the fact I have no thyroid because medically I am dependant on medication for thyroid hormones

So my question is as follows:
If the central nervous system is being sped up by provigil would the hypothalamus sense this thereby putting undue stress on my endocrine system causing my body to basically shut down?

Thanks for anyone able to help with this.

I am on Provigil 200mg twice daily. I take one in the morning then one more at 1pm that way I can make it through a day of work. I also as on Synthroid for hypothyroidism.

I was on Provigil for quite a while due to sleep apena.

Have you had your thyroid checked recently?  What strength of thyroid medication are you talking?

Provigil had a similar effect on me.  I would get a hyper feeling for a while and then just crash.  Adderall has a similar problem for me but you can take it every four hours and control when the drop off will happen.

That's exactly how I am.  I even drink a pot of coffee with my provigil and synthroid.  It's still lights out after 5 hours.  A  3 - 4 hour nap for me!

Not good.
