Tingling, numb sense of touch

Hi, I have this problem and I'm not sure if it is anxiety related. I have strange bouts of tingling/numbness accompanied with a strange problem feeling texture. It only bothers me really when I move or touch anything, including walking. Sometimes it is worse and sometimes it's not bad. It is mostly in my hands/arms/feet/face. When it's really strong I can describe it as waves of tingling. It can get quite painful/bothersome. This usually happens when I'm stressed. The first couple times it happened after smoking weed. I don't do that anymore but I still get this feeling. It used to only last a few hours but the last couple of incidents lasted for days. I just don't see how effects from an anxiety attack could last for days. One doctor I saw said it was anxiety and the other had nothing to say. Does anyone have any ideas?

I feel the same :( It's been happening since Wednesday and I have no idea what it is. I am 17 years old, I have smoked weed before, and the first thing I thought when I observed this pattern was that it felt a lot like being high. I've also been pretty tired. It's really annoying me and can sometimes be scary like when I have to swallow.

I have been feeling this since Monday night. I agree, it feels a lot like I smoked weed. I haven't touched weed since I was 18, I am now 33. I feel like my movements are kind of in slow motion. I can feel things, but can't feel them as well and it is just very strange. Right when I wake up, it isn't as noticeable. I am being checked for Lupus and wonder if it is related, I know there is a such thing as CNS lupus, hopefully my rheumatologist will not think I am crazy.

Okay, I read all of you guys comment. This is the only forum that I found where I found there are more people suffering from the exact same symptoms. I don't seem to find any answer relating to this subject. No doctor has the answer to it. It sometimes terrifies me so much that I start to think I am going mad. I am currently taking anti anxiety pills and sleeping pills. If i don't take sleeping pills I have problems falling asleep, and if I do sleep, I wake up again and again terrified. Anyone got diagnosed or anything? A reply would be really appreciated.

Hello, regarding the pins and needles feelings for all the people reporting this condition.
I have had this in mild degrees for about 3 years.
Same as I see all through these reports, when I get over heated
or bundled up in too many clothes feeling of being enclosed
and too hot sometimes hot air feel cold on skin.
Sometimes when I get over stressed situation it breaks out
If I take a shower use soap on my back then go out to work as
soon as my skin begins to heat up or stretch out while reaching an attack can start.

It will not subside by scratching like an itch period.
I do have nephropathy hot spots in my legs sometimes and
have had herniated disc for 20 years.

I tried everything, Medical Doctors seem to be clueless and want to
prescribe nasty meds to see what might work.
Went to skin doctor, zero idea determined not a skin problem.

Every time I get an attack I run into the house because it will not stop.
I cry to my wife like a baby with a wet diaper begging for any solution.

What to do?
She tried back massage with some results but then switched to back massage
with high quality extra virgin olive oil rubbing it in completely

This is the only thing that will shut it off nearly within a few minutes.

I dont know if its because she is calming the nerves
or if the oil is interacting in some manner.
Actually I dont care as long as it works.

And I can anticipate this before hand by having the
oil rub before going outside to work and it does fine all day.
If this helps even one person I will be happy because
I know what you are going through.

I have been having the exact same symptoms. It is now Tuesday night and I smoked a joint on Saturday afternoon. Ever since then I have been having these unbearable symptoms of delayed movements and tingling, numbing sensations in my lower body and arms whenever I move them. When I touch objects or lean on benches it starts to hurt or feel uncomfortable and then I go into this "zone" where the symptoms come again. When I sit down for periods of time and then get up after class it's like I am in the Matrix and everything becomes blurry, fuzzy and delayed. It goes into a cycle every 10 or so seconds. It is really confusing and I can't stand it. I am 17 and have always had anxiety + insomnia and I think this really correlates with it. Being also a bit of a hypochondriac, when I think these symptoms will stay with me forever it terrifies me and my anxiety worsens, resulting in symptoms recurring more frequently and stronger. I am on the verge of going crazy and lacking sleep and it's only been the 3rd/4th day! I have so exams and other commitments coming up and I just get too stressed. I have told my sister (age 22) and she had similar feelings after smoking weed (she also has a lot of anxiety) and they sometimes recur. It's probably the 4th time I've ever smoked weed and I am 99% sure it wasn't laced as I smoked the same batch about 4 months ago and it was fine.
I don't feel comfortable telling my parents that it might have occurred from smoking weed, but I might have to if the severity of these symptoms don't reduce.
Regarding people seeking medical advice, what was the outcome? Hope anyone can help!

It can be labelled as Tactile Sensory Processing Disorder, there isn't any straightforward treatment. Although you can try to focus on how your sense of touch used to feel while touching something and keep working on it. After a while it may fade away or lie dormant for a while but exercises like that may help to correct it

The important thing is not to be freaked out, just try to be comfortable with feeling how strange it is and not be overwhelmed or bothered. Try to see it as an experience to feel something new.
