My husband recently has an MRI due to a 2 years history of headaches jaw tightness, neck soreness and if he quickly looks to his left has a feeling like he could black out. The MRI showed venous angioma and the doctor wants to have another MRI in 5 months. I am doing research on this and wanted to know if there were any studies showing infections that could "cause" venous angioma. The first onset of his symptoms were two years ago and the symptoms that began were pain in his jaw and swelling in a tooth. (He has had several root canals through the years and he regularly sees a dentist twice a year) A root canal was done at that time and a few weeks after the root canal he developed "severe" pain and jaw tighness and muscle spasms and was again seen by our dentist who gave him a diagnosis but I can't remember the name and gave him some strong pain medicine. The severe pain subsided in about a week but he has had continued tightness jaw pain and headaches. He has only taken tylenol for these symptoms and never gets an relief.
My main question is could an infection cause venous angioma?
We sought out our phsician for these symtoms and I want to again state them below again:
Onset: Root canal infection and severe pain that subsided in a week.
"Daily" jaw tightness, headaches, soreness in neck and shoulders.
Ear ringing at times on the same left side
Occasional quickly turning to the left side and feeling like he could black out.
Occasional dizziness.
