Vertigo

I have been experiencing vertigo since Oct last year - a year now.. I still cringe at the place I first fell down.. my blackspot I call it.  Anyhows I dont get spinning but have a pull to the left, and feel like my head is toppling over.  It can last for days and go away but I find it hard to walk or stand when I have it.. I had a few days of freedom from it recently but got it at lunchtime today out of the blue.. It gets you down.

I went to a vestibular clinic last week and they told me my balance was off and that Id have to get physical therapy for my balance.  they also said my left ear was out of sync.  I also get ringing in my ears from time to time but Id get over this.  My hearing in my left ear was also slightly off.  I am waiting for my ENT appointment for him to let me know whats happening.

Last month I experience my first introducion to Anxiety - I actually had not a clue what was happening.  This is common with people who have vertigo seemily.  I have got the anxiety under control with help from a therapist.  Overall this year as been pretty hard.  Has anyone any similar storys to mine?  Im just hoping my ENT gives me a diagnosis and I can treat whatever it is.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
The most common cause of loss of balance and ringing in the ears is Meniere’s disease. Please wait for the ENT specialist consultation to know the diagnosis. The symptoms could also be the result of the fall that you had. I would suggest you to go for MRI of the brain and consult a neurologist for complete neurological examination to rule out a brain pathology. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
