biopsy

my 25 yr old daughter went into the hospital on 10/30/07 to have a FIBROID TUMOR removed. it was done and today 11/28/07 she saw her surgeon to check her insision and was told that she has cancer.they are sending her to a specialist and she sees him 12/20/07. my question is why did it take so long to get the report of cancer. shouldnt this report have come sooner than almost a MONTH??? thank you for your help

Any histo-pathology report should be ready within 72 hours to 7 days maximum.
What does the report say?
You have full rights to know, why there was delay and what disease she has.

Yes.  Those results should have been available very quickly, sometimes even during the surgery.  I would have her ask the doctor why she wasn't notified sooner.
