Hi, I'm 16 and I've had black out problems for most of my life. Before this past year I would only get black outs if I stand up really fast, and if I'm standing for a long period of time. Most of my friends and family say they get the black-outs that I describe to them, but only for a split second, and usually only when they stand up really fast from sitting a long period of time. A few months ago I fell and hit my head really hard during a band rehearsal, and started having a lot of head pain. I went see my doctor and they did a MRI of my head and said there wasn't any internal bleeding, and that the brain probably just bot bruised a little during the impact. Ever since then my black-outs have gotten severely worse, and now I'm starting to experience new symptoms.
I've been sleeping around 12 hours a night (I'm on summer break), and still feel extremely tired throughout the day. I've become very temperature sensitive in the past month, along with the extreme bout of tiredness and fatigue throughout the day. I get extremely hot very quickly, and I get extremely cold very quickly during moments where it really isn't that hot or cold. My black outs are lasting a few seconds longer, and are also becoming heavily more frequent.
I've gone see my general care doctor, a neurologist, and a cardiologist. They've all had different theories that they tested and came back negative. My general care doctor believed it was Anemia, but the tests came back negative. My cardiologist believed I have been dehydrated for a long duration of 8 months, and believes my symptoms should go away with drinking more liquids. I've been following her advice for the past 8 months, substituting Gatorade for sodas, and being conscientious about drinking a lot more water throughout the day; symptoms continued to worsen. The last neurologist did not find any explanation for what is going on; therefore I have made an appointment to find someone that can. I am unsure where to go, and where I should be getting the proper care and attention from. My family has a very large presence of heart problems, so I believed the cardiologist may have a clear explanation of what is going on. Everywhere I have gone, I have not found proper care to my symptoms. Where should I go, and what should I do?
