What is the cause of a burning sensation on my face and leg?

Hi there,

I have been feeling burning sensation as far as I can remember, every now and then on my skin in different parts of my body. I usually have this feeling when I have a fever however no doctor has been able to give me an answer of the reason why.

The other day I woke with a burning sensation on my left face and it was very tender as well. It almost felt like someone punched me however I couldn't find any bite marks or rashes. My left eyelid was also affected to the point that it hurt when I open and close my eyes.

I went and seen my GP and his theory was that a nerve was possibly swollen in my left face and it is affecting that left cheek area. So he gave some medicine to ease the pain however when I took it it didn't do much so the next day I went and saw a different doctor in the same clinic and because I also happened to have some rash in my upper palate he reckons I had a cold sore which affected my nerves in the left face resulting in that burning sensation. He gave me some quite strong pain medicine and it did help put me to sleep.

The next morning I woke up feeling the same pain in my right leg/calf. I don't know what the world is going on.

Can someone please tell me or at least give ideas or theory because I am so confused???? :(
