I’ve spent about 3 months in ignorance as to what this is, it all started when I was working out one day and noticed what looked like a swollen nerve or vein in my lower thumb. I decided to give it a few days and it didn’t get better but seemed to work its way up to my neck. I’ve theorized maybe it was stress because my official doctors diagnosis after that was that my right shoulder and hip were out of alignment with possible sciatica and cevical radicopathy (sorry if spelled wrong) . Come to find out two spots in my spine one in the lower neck and one at my lower back were out of alignment as well. The pain has become more tolerable since the realignments but this visible irritation in my right thumb is still there and the muscles in my right arm and leg are weakened. I’ve now been prescribed dexamethasone a steroid I believe and it’s been 3 days and it seems to be nulling the symptoms for now. The other symptoms I have are a sore spot in my middle spine, and neck tightness on the right side and some weakness still in the right leg and arm. The pain in my back lower and upper increases with extended periods of sitting. Going to take the steroids for now and hope for the best. Any ideas as to what this is or what I can do to help it? It could be all anxiety and stress, but it’s a lot considering I’m only 20 years old. Haven’t had an MRI yet but did get an EMG I believe it’s called and it showed moderate damage in the misaligned sections of my spine. May get another one not sure yet.
