Will there be any 'hidden' side effects after taking nootropics?

This question is about Nootropics, commonly known as the 'Smart Drugs', which enhance the cognitive functions and possibly, increasing one's intelligence.

Currently,I am really interested in trying out these medication, but i am just doubtful.
I am just wondering, are there any hidden side effects or drastic long term side effects on the vital organs? I understand that there are no/ mild side effects, but is it possible that this drug might be damaging the organs without symptoms surfacing?

I am only 14 years old, and, I am planning to take a combination of Oxiracetam+Alpha GPC, which could be found on the internet.

Well... i thought that i can have a nootropics simply pop into my mouth and then everything will be fine..How i wish that there will not be those above-mentioned effects. I thought that it will be somewhat a little troublesome to see a doc. In addition, an important exam is coming.
But i thought that the effects are specifically on the brain?
Will there be any harm on a 14 years old?

Hi,
Adverse effects apply to cognitive-enhancing drugs as well. Nootropics or brain-enhancing drugs were considered to have a very few side-effects. Racetams ( Oxiracetm) are sometimes cited as an example of a Nootropic with few effects and however, any substance ingested could produce harmful effects. An unapproved drug or dietary supplement does not have to have safety or efficacy approval before being sold. Some dangers of nootropics include, but are not limited to: Downregulation of neurological activity upon stimulation resulting in a permanent or temporary hypoactive system and/or addictive properties,  Serotonin syndrome, Excessive acetylcholine receptor activation, Heart failure such as that from stimulants or any substance which alters heart rate and organ failure such as liver failure and kidney failure. Please consult a doctor before starting to take Nootropics.  Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
