Reading your post reminded me of when I was recovering from back surgery, I went through the same thing. At 8 weeks, I was supposed to be walking every day, I don't remember how far and going to Physical Therapy, I could barely stand for 15 minutes.
I was really in bad shape prior to surgery too, it had gotten to the point where I couldn't even walk, delaying surgery that long made my recovery much harder and longer. It took 6 months of P.T. strengthening my muscles and retraining my leg. You'll begin to feel better soon, for some of us it just takes longer. Hang in there.
I know some people from down your way...Clarksville, VA
Well, since you did not recover the way the docs originally expected you to, it is incumbent upon them to X-ray or scan where they did the operation, to make sure things are still in place. Could be you have a pinched nerve, or something is wrong with the operation they did. Also, you need better medication. A good one for lower back pain that I use is Lyrica, but it can make you dizzy and off-balance, and the dose has to be increased about three-fold in the first few months. But it will kill the pain. If you've tried it and didn't work, the docs STILL need to address your pain with stronger drugs, whilst they run a few tests to decide what IS preventing you from improving like they said you would. I know you said you've asked them what is going on and they have no answers, so you could consider visiting a different neurologist and let him do a new workup on you, his office should obtain your operation records and so forth from the original docs.
