csf leak from nose? symptoms of Chiara

can a csf leak out from your nose? for example, when you lean over could it just drip out ?
and could someone please give me more examples of all symptoms of chiara? (dizziness, fever??)

Hi....u may have a spontanious CSF leak and yes it can leak out ur nose....if it i s a very minimal amount u may not have the severe HA's as is typical for a CSF leak.

And as momentoman mentioned, if u have an issue, do call ur dr ASAP, and if u have severe symptoms or fever develop get to the ER.

U may also find the info regarding Chiari from others that have experienced it in the chiari forum as to using the neuro forum.

I pray ur issue is a sinus one, but be advised sinus issues are a chiari symptom.

I don't think so, unless you had a traumatic head injury or brain surgery through the nasal cavity. The main thing you would experience if this was C.S.F is the worse head ache imaginable. I would feel that this is a sinus infection, or a simple allergy.

But for god-sake girl if you thought it was Central Spinal Fluid, shouldn't the ER be your first point of call. Any Infection if there was a leak if it was possible without a headache which i doubt would be Possible  terminal.
