embolism

hello! i jus wanted to ask ... i was prescribed birth control pills a few months ago due to my hormonal imbalance. this is my 5th month that im having it. i was just worried about embolism since i heard that these pills may cause clots and sudden death. i have a few varicose veins but since ive started havin these pills my overall health has improved remarkably.
please can u tell me how risky these pills are and what are the symptoms of thromboembolism ? also who is more at risk ?

The main symptoms of thromboembolism are pain, weakness, tingling, numbness, and paresthesias or altered sensations and weak pulse.

Yes, birth control pills can cause thromboembolism. Obese women who lead a sedentary life are more at risk.
Other factors that increase the risk are prolonged bed rest, surgery, smokers, women suffering from major illnesses and frequent long car trips.
