Please help

I'm a 19 year old girl with no history of illness (apart from recently diagnosed IBS) About a month and a half ago I began experiencing a strange feeling of pressure in my head - it's difficult to describe, but feels almost as though there's a bubble between my skull and brain. Sometimes it intensifies - this is something akin to the feeling you get when you take off in an aeroplane. I'm also suffering from headaches, feelings of weakness in my left arm and leg, visionary disturbances, nausea, and a feeling of unreality - this especially is incredibly distressing. I've been to the doctor and had various blood tests, which eliminated thyroid problems, anaemia etc...she's referred me to a neurologist, but it could be months before I get an appointment and I don't know if I can wait that long. I'm just desperate to know what's wrong, and I feel I can't discuss the issue with my friends and family. I'm sorry, I know there are people in pain and with real medical problems, and I feel so guilty for making such a fuss. I'm just really frightened I've got a brain tumour - I feel worse every day and I'm finding it really hard to cope. Thankyou for reading this!

Thankyou for replying. It's a comfort to know the possibility of my actually being really ill is rare. However, recently my symptoms have intensified...I've been getting bad pounding headaches, twitches and this morning I woke up feeling really dizzy...it's much worse when I bend over/lie down. I am quite an anxious person and could easily believe this was all in my head, were it not for the headaches/weird twitches and tremors/dizziness. And last night I found I couldn't swallow properly for a few mintues. I just can't believe that all these symptoms are unrelated. I'm still waiting for a letter to confirm my appointment with the neurologist, but I was wondering if I should go back to the doctor in the meantime? I really don't want to be a nuisance, and I know how frustrating it must be for her when I keep returning with the same complaints. I just worry that something might be seriously wrong, and that I'm not doing anything to help myself! Sorry this post is so long! Thankyou

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
Feeling of bubbles inbetween skull and brain, not feeling things real and so on,all these symptoms more likely favour unstable cognetive and thought process. This is like hypochondriasis.Take some antianxiety drugs for short term and consult a psychologist for counselling.Possiblity of medical illness is very rare.
Regards,
