Hello.
Yes, an inner ear problem can bring on the imbalance. Allergies can play an important role in loss of balance. There may be a middle ear infection which can increase local secretions and fluid collection in the middle ear. There is a feeling of fullness in the ears. In some cases, the infection may perforate the ear drum and the fluid flows out of the middle ear cavity. There is a high percentage of people with ear infections who have tinnitus. Do you experience any ringing in the ears?
An ENT specialist should be able to examine your ear cavities and tell you if there is any middle ear infection.
Have you scheduled an appointment with the ENT specialist?

Hello.
Your concern about the withdrawal from nicotine may be correct. I did not consider it at the front as it is important to rule out any other physical illnesses. Are you still off the cigarette? Do you get the craving to smoke? There are some good nicotine withdrawal alternatives you might want to try. They have less amount of nicotine and you don't have to smoke anything.

Hello.
The inner ear has a very important part of the equilibrium system, the vestibular apparatus. The apparatus has semicircular canals, arranged horizontally, vertically and transversely. So, a head movement in any direction is detected by the canals.
The signals then travel through the vestibular nerve to the cerebellum and other parts of the brain concerned with body posture.
Any dysfunction of this apparatus leads to balance issues.

i have a appointment with the doctor on friday afternoon 1pm. going to get blood work done. check my blood pressure. im going to explain everything to her. she will send me for a mri. if everything comes back normal then its a inner ear problem. how can a inner ear problem throw my balance off. im curious im in good health and today is 2 months for not smoking.
Hi.
As I mentioned earlier, this could be benign positional vertigo. Please insist on getting a referral for an ENT specialist.
Check you blood pressure. Stress itself will not cause these symptoms.
