I have experienced internal burning in the upper part of my body occuring mainly during my sleep and it wakes me up, followed by a very hot feeling with little sweating.  I'm starting to worry...........it's been happening about 2-3 nights a week for the last 6 weeks.

This is an old post I know, but I have been searching for answers for the exact same insane problem without answers for 10 years and dozens of doctors.  It is quite intolerable at this point and is all over but very intense in chest and upper back but only when I wake up from having slept.  Once I move around it dissipates only to return when I wake up again from a sleep.  The longer I sleep the more intense the internal heat is.  Never ever have a fever or feel hot on the outside. Desperate for an answer if anyone has one.

Hi, I sometimes have unexplained burning sensation in my lower parts. I thought I had an infection and the doctor (gynocologist) checked me and said everything looked good. all my bladder and urine tests came back good. I still do not know what causes it yet it happens to me on and off and it is very painful. I told the doctor my insides feel as though they are on fire. I take oxycodone 15mg. and vicodin ex for pain control. I have arachnodititis (scarring of the nerve roots in the base of the spine and wondered if that has something to do with it. I also have neck problems and suspected ms I am going for a cervical myelogram and lumbar puncture next week. I wonder how common the burning is and what the heck causes it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
All the drugs which cause gastric irritation, viz: like the anti inflammatory drugs cause burning in the abdomen. They should be taken after food to reduce this or antacids and Histamine 2 blockers/proton pump inhibitors should be taken.
Morphine and its derivatives should not be taken without a prescription.
Take care!
