Hi, I am a very healthy 28 year-old female dancer/actor...I took a nap this afternoon, and when I woke up, I realized that I lost feeling in my entire shin area from the knee down to the ankle on my left leg. I sometimes experience a part of my body being "asleep," but as soon as I move it around I feel pins and kneedles and it wakes up. This time, it has now been four hours, and the feeling has not come completely back. I am starting to get worried, and am not sure what is going on. I am an athlete, do not smoke or do drugs, occassionally drink...work out four times per week and dance. I don't know what is going on. Can you please help me figure it out? Should I be concerned and seek medical help?
I am able to walk, but still cannot completely feel my shin area...it is only on the top...the calf is fine and normal. I can feel about 15% pain, but the rest of it, it numb.
Thanks so much for your advice.
Kristi
