MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. Numbness and tingling in the tongue can be due to damge to the lingual nerve as a complication of dental procedures like wisdom tooth extraction, implants, and root canal procedures. Others are stroke, burning mouth syndrome, facial nerve problems and bell’s palsy, multiple sclerosis and stroke. Medications like antobiotics, oral burns, B12 deficiency etc also need to be considered. Consult a neurologist for investigation and clinical evaluation. Treatment would depend on the cause. Hope this helps. Take care.
