pain in my fingertips

a few months ago I had the first episode. My fingertips on my right hand have severe pain. It started in my pointer finger. I thought it might be ingrown fingernail so I used fingernail clippers to get it out(with no success of seeing signs of ingrown fingernail).. well each day i woke up it was in a different fingertip. This lasted about a week and went away. It came back a few weeks ago but much worse. All my fingertips are sore, but the severity of it moves every couple days to a new finger. Its really hard to describe the pain but its kinda like a burning tingling feeling,(and some days a throbbing down the whole finger) my finger will slightly swell, feel hot and turn red. I went to my family doctor who believed I have carpel tunnel. I have been wearing a wrist splint to sleep the past two weeks but still wake up in as much pain everyday. The only activity ive noticed to really irritate it was when I was ironing. That day I was thinking it was getting better, then I ironed and it instantly came back in full swing. Also heat affects it which could be why ironing caused so much pain afterwards. I need relieve! Its affecting my everyday activities and I also want to be sure its not something serious i am ignoring thinking i have carpel tunnel and need to sleep in a splint because so far that is not helping!

Check your family History. Is there any Lupus or close to it that runs in your family?

You really need an in-person physician's look-see. There are a number of hematologic blood disorders that present this way, particuliarly disorders of the size of blood cells. These disorders may or may not be serious, but mandate a physician's examination and input.
