Hi, your problems are probably related to prolapsed disc as they compress nerves leading to pain and stiffness along with tingling sensations in hands. For more information visit http://www.emedicine.com/pmr/topic25.htm
i was told by my lawyer to go to a neurosurgeon, especially since the accident was a year ago and i didnt find out til this past friday bc i had an appt with a neurosurgeon set up by the insurance company. they never told me about it. i already see a neurologist and they never said anything, also was seen by an orthopedic after the accident and was in a neckbrace for 3 wks bc they thought i had a compression fracture, said there was nothing else wrong..I"m not looking to have surgery..believe me - Ive had my share and my spine is not one I look to add to that list. I'm just trying to find out whats really going on..especially since i wasnt told about it a yr ago when they saw it
possibly, but a neuro surgeon is an aggressive approach without first trying other fors of treatment. Also neuro surgeons don't just and go operate without first refering you to other treatments, such as an orthopedic doctor or a chiropractor. I have gone to a chiropractor after every accident I have had (which have been quite a fedw) and always found it to help, Until my last accident, the chiropractor was the one who gave me the most relief...with long term success as well.
Chiropractors can manipulate discs (or subluxations) back into place and reduce pain...without surgery and use of drugs.
