swollen eye

i was diagnosed with bih in 2006 and ive been in and out of hospital since i was put on diamox xmas 2006 and i came off it noz 2007 and so far all has been fine no headaches anything and i noticed over the weekend that my left eye ball seems swollen compared to the right my eye lid is covering more of my left eye due to it being swollen. there is no pain or blurred vision or anything really and i just wondered if this could be anything to do with raised pressure again?

ive rung my neurologist and got an app for 7th feb as my original app was march so they have brought it forward

please i need some advice

thanks zoe

Hi,
I can understand about your concern.
I think you should be consulting neurologist at earliest and get evaluation done.
Imaging studies is warranted and get your self a MRI brain done to see for any existing pathology.
Alternatively, speak to your consulting doctor about your concern.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.

hi im 21 and sorry yes i mean benign intercranial hypertension
i feel absolutly normal in every way possible and its so strange how it is just my left eye as you look at both my eyes on my right you can see all the oloured part of my eye and the left eye the top little bt is missing as my eye lid is covering it and if i cloe my eyes and touch my eyelids to fel my eye ball the left eye ball feels bigger than the right
my mum was just bit concerend that it could be the pressure is high again and so now im getting worried about it but i have no headaches and when bending over as in head down i dont get any pain like i did before so im just confused.
i was wearing eye makeup yest but had no irretation so just praying its something non serious like a narural enlarged eye ball if u can think of anything please let me know
thank you.

ps were trying for baby no2 so praying all is ok so i dont have to go back on the diamox

Hi Zoe,
How old are you?
I assume that by BIH you mean to say Benign Intracranial Hypertension.
There are few causes of swollen eyelid like either it could be your current problem or due to kidney dysfunction.
But in kidney dysfunction you would have swelling on both eyelids and not one.
Your current problem also would cause swelling bilaterally and not only on left eyelid.
I think there could be some local causes like insect bite or any injury or any irritant affecting the eyelid which could have caused the symptom.
I think you should be consulting your neurologist for evaluation if you feel the symptom is annoying.
If you don’t have any other symptoms associated with BIH currently, then you should not be worried.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.

Hi, It is also better you call you eye specialist early, usuall increased pressure causes pain, anyways you can consult both of them for better treatment.
Take care.
