could possibly be parkinsins disease and parkinsons is hard to diagnose because there is not a test that will diagnose it. I was diagnosed using the process of elimination of otherr neourologocal diseases that have related syptoms. Parkinsin desease can include tremors or shakes on one side of the body and cause stiffness in walking or gait. Asking about it or talking with your doctor won't hurt.
One last thing - if it is neurologic I would suggest you find a good neurologist rather than relying on your gp.
Best
If it is a H. Migraine, or some other type Migraine -
sometimes triggers to these complicated migraines aren't known, even with monitoring. Be careful NOT to over do NSAIDS or she can end up with a rebound headache on top of migraine. I suffered through this after a proceedure and it is terrible. You have to wait until system is clear before you can take anything again (gen 3 days). Ask her doc, this was just my exp.
Good luck to you both.
Hello dear, welcome to the medhelp forum. I can understand your concern over your wife’s health. These episodes could be a type of migraines, which are severe and run in families. The hemiplegic migraine is associated with an aura, presenting with temporary weakness or numbness on one side of body. Headaches follow up and these neurological symptoms may disappear. Migraines are caused by certain triggers like stress, lack of sleep, during a woman’s periods, eating chocolates and caffeine.
Migraines if confirmed need to be screened carefully. She will need to check for possible triggers from her routine, avoiding them, preventive drugs would include atenolol, nifedipine, anti convulsants like topiramate. Painkillers like NSAIDS can be used to abort an attack, anti depressants like nortriptyline, fluoxetine and triptans like sumatriptan.
You need to check for any degenerative disc disease in the spine, particularly cervical spine causing headaches and numbness on left half of the body due to spinal canal stenosis.
Consult a physician for these symptoms immediately.
You are welcome for any clarification.
Wish you all the best.
