tremors?please help

Hi
I’m 22-year-old female from Turkey.I have hand(especially on my right hand),neck, facial and tongue tremors.Tremors on my hand doesn’t affect my writing but the other things that require attention.Alcohol doesn’t change the tremors. It started with my hands when i was 12 and kept on getting worse. No one in my family has tremors.
All the doctors were insisting on the stress effect but there must be another explanation. One of my doctors wanted me to be tested for Wilson’s disease my MRI was clean and i don’t have kaiser fleischer rings.I will get an urine test this week-end but i don’t think that the tests will show Wilson’s.
I don’t feel comfortable when the wheather is hot and i sweat too much.I have hashimoto syndrome but there’s nothing wrong with my hormones(my blood tests were all normal).
My B12 , D , iron , folic acid levels are low.
I have hipoglycemia but i’m not experiencing its effects.
I was experiencing  very bad drowsiness which started 5 years ago i was prescribed Propranolol HCI and Dimenhydrinate. After them i started using low dosed anti-depressant.(i’m still using it.)My doctor told me that because of stress my inner ear fluids’ pressures are changing and making me dizzy. My head feels heavy i feel pressure in my ears when i have this drowsiness.
My liver enzymes are all normal for now but further tests will be done.
I’m having headaches more often than other people i guess.I oftenly feel pain on my shoulder, arms, heart.I can say that i always have a pain in one of those parts.
My heart beat is always fast. When i walk fast or go upstairs i feel bad.My blood pressure is always higher than 90.
I got allergic asthyma in childhood but now it’s all gone.
I will go another brain MRI appointment 3-Tesla contrasted and MR angio.
If you have any recommendations , any ideas please let me know.

i still have no diagnosis. wilsons and other diseases which are coming from metal poisoning are ruled out. i stopped seeing doctors. the last doctor told me that u might had a fear in your childhood and now u might be seeing its effects as tremors.u can have a hypnosis treatment and this can help you.
i really dont know what to do.

I am going to throw out a guess. This problem ocasionally somes up in agricultural workers who work with pesticides. Decades ago I did crop-dusting and pilots would sometimes develop this problem. You need to request a serum test for levels of acetycholinesterase. These tests are relatively inexpensive and definitive.

Parkinson's is not ruled out since its hard to diagnose and doctors in turkey havent seen such people with parkinsons in my age before :)
someone mentioned mercury poisoning in another forum and i added mercury and lead testing to my blood tests yesterday.
my vitamin deficiencies just came out this year.i was eating unhealthy during this year since i was abroad a lot.im taking those vitamin pills and i will start to get injections for them also.
im trying to eat 5/6 times a day too but sometimes its hard to schedule :)
i started taking Levothyroxine Sodium for hashimoto.they couldnt connect the problems i have with this thyroid issue because the problems started way too earlier than that.
they dont plan to put me on a drug to lower down my pulse since im young.
when i say 90 i mean my pulse/heartbeat.
absolutely i should focus on sth to get relax because living with these problems causing me stress a lot..i hope i will get a diagnosis soon.

thanks so much for all the support and help!

Hi
Glad they ruled out essential tremors. I imagine they also ruled out Parkinsons? I was reading mercury poisoning can cause your asymetrical tremor symptoms, especially your racing heart and blood pressure. Did they test your blood for mercury? Although you would have other symptoms not listed.

I don't understand why your vitamin deficiencies and hypoglycemia are being treated? Have they tried vitamin B12 injections to see if you improve? For Vitamin D, it's usually found in the drugstore here in Canada. i have a hypoglycemia, too, but I just make sure I eat five times a day and snack lots. Also with folic acid being low, that's an off the shelf supplement. I would talk to a health food store or naturopath to get some advice on your vitamin deficiencies. It will give you more energy to correct them.

Have they tried any medications to see if they calm the tremors? I read Propanolol is supposed to calm the essential tremor type, it only calms certain types. Interesting it didn't do that for you,

It sounds like you're in good hands with the doctors in Turkey. They are right about the stress effect ... most neurological conditions get worse with stress, I don't think they meant your symptoms are caused by stress, otherwise I think a lot more people would have your symptoms in the world!  I had a friend with Parkinsons and his tremors would get worse if someone yelled at him or if he was frustrated about something.

With a diagnosis of Hashimoto syndrome, I assume you're on thyroid medication? If not, this could cause your fatigue, weakness. This article talks about a study where they found it beneficial to treat with low dose medication even though TSH blood work was in normal range. What does your doctor say when you say you're tired a lot and weak? I would think they would give you meds because if your blood pressure is high because of the hashimotos, then having high BP will eventually cause other health problems. Usually BP is listed as one number over another ... when you say 90? is that the bottom number? There is some natural stuff you can do when one has Hashimotos, have you tried any of the suggestions listed on the internet?

It looks like with the MR angio and MRI, they're looking for brain abnormalities that would cause your tremors. You should have an answer soon. i would focus on relaxing activities as sometimes a racing heart can be anxiety; plus it would help you get through this time of not knowing what's causing your symptoms.

Take care, Laura

thank you for the response Laura!they dont think its essential tremor because alcohol didnt stop them and my hand tremor is asymmetric.
Propranolol was 5 years ago.i used that drug only for 3 months and it was for my drowsiness and also didnt effect my tremor.
i will go to the website you recommended.thanks again for your good wishes!

It sounds like you have good doctors and they are doing lots of tests. When they don't find another cause for your tremors, then it's likely "essential tremors" diagnosis.. It  can be a genetic condition, that's why you developed it young. The Propanolol is a drug used to calm the tremors. Perhaps your doctor didn't keep you on it long because of your age. All drugs have side effects and the doctor has to make a decision how much your tremors are bugging you. He likely put you on it so you can have calmness in your hands and the result you would be able to get a better sleep.  A rapid heartbeat is also a symptom of Essential Tremors as it can affect the cardiovascular system. Here's a good site to read up on it. I would call your doctor to ask him if you have Essential Tremors; however, if they are still doing tests, they may want to wait to give you a diagnosis. I'm not familiar with the treatment for Essential tremors, sometimes there's medical sites for a specific condition where you can talk to others your age.

Take care and I hope you get an answer soon.
