twitches and vibrations

over the last year to nine months it has become more noticable with it now happening noticibly  all the timewhen i rest, it feels like my muscles in my arms and legs are vibrating, when i touch them or ask someone else to they stop but start up immediatly when pressure is released also i have twitches all over legs and arms which i can feel.  Three times in the last six months i have choked so badly i almost called 911 and felt like i was going to die, once i even had an accident this was the worst case i felt myself passing out.  My legs feel like tree trunks especially after sitting or sleeping i move like an old lady (although I am 58) I am also getting terribly foggy i used to pride myself in my memory, I get halfway through something i was saying and forget what i was going to say, not at all like me.

I have always tripped and fallen over but it seems to be more frequent lately and i drop a lot more things then usual.
I am under considerable financial stress at the moment.  I also have terrible reflux and heart burn.  I have had a bad back and four years of physio oesteopath chiropractor and mobec medication which i have not taken for at least a month.
I am also allergic to a lot of foods especially with additives wine sets me through the roof with my nose running like a tap.
I do take a lot of laxitives as if i don't i would not go to the toilet at all
I am also very tired lately
I am very worried about motor neuron as my mother died from it three years ago.
Sorry about all the symptoms but they are my major ones.  the last doctor I went to said i was silly and that i was under stress and had a bad back so that was the probable cause  she tested me for diabetes.  the symptoms have become more noticable.
please let me know if i am being a hypocondriac as I can not sleep for the worrying i am sure I have what my mother had.

Dr  can you explain possible causes for continual vibrations and twitches of my legs and arms while resting also the fact that my legs feel like dead wood when i get up after sitting or sleeping and three major choking incidents. surely stress can not cause that or can it.  (i am very worried about finances as my industry has all but stopped) I have put on twenty kilo's in the last two years and just can't shift it no matter how hard i try.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
In most people the disease does not seem to be inherited. However, in a small minority, the disease runs in the family, indicating a genetic link. Some research suggests that people who have worked in industries exposing them to certain toxic substances, chemical solvents, or pesticides may be more likely to develop MND.

Do not worry as it is not commonly inherited and also the way of lifestyle is important.
Please lead a healthy lifestyle with balanced diet, do not smoke or drink.
Exercise and follow up with your Physician.
In your case believing in someone is important, do not be suspicious and follow whatever instructions your Physician gives. Take all the medications properly.
Take care!

Thank you so much for replying as my mother died a terrible death of Motor neuron disease I am terrified of getting the same.  I also found a site which is Fibromyalga it is very much what symptoms i am experiencing but my doctor said it was rubbish and a disease were they dump all problem diagnosis.  I am having blood work done at the moment but they say that it does not show up Motor neuron in the blood tests. Once again thank you so much  I am a sensible and positive person but can not sleep or function for the fear every time my arms and legs begin to twitch and vibrate.

By the way, I am also dealing with some similar symptoms myself. My left hand and foot have been tingling on and off for the last week or so, and I get random stinging pains throughout my arms and toes, sometimes my fingers as well. I am having constant headaches and "episodes" of absent-mindedness... where everything feels kinda foggy (even though I can function perfectly through these lapses). Three doctors told me I have an anxiety disorder and that this is why these things are happening.

I highly recommend you see a doctor, but stress (anxiety, specifically) can definitely create all of the problems listed above. I'd try some anti-anxiety meds like Ativan or Zanax to see if they help any but I'd also go to the doctor and get some blood work done, alongside with maybe an MRI or an x-ray, just to put your mind to rest.
