what should i do for a bulging disc?

i am 37 years old and i have a bulging disc in my back that is now affecting my bowels but my surgeon says he won't do the surgery because it's to risky,my family dr has me on morphine for the pain that still doesn't take it away,it's going on four months now and is just getting worse i tried pt it didn't help at all seemed to make it worse, my dr just doen't seemed to be concerned and just tells me to keep taking the morphine for pain i just don't know what to do i know i will be this way for years...is there anything else i should do to take this pain away?

well great news i hope, went to my family dr this morning and he said that my condition has got alot worse,and that he was going to call the surgeon because this can't go on any longer and that i do need the surgery,not that i am excited about surgery but when you can't even walk,lay down or sit i think it's time they fixed the problem....

Thats the spirit!

One ignorant Doctor can waste an enormous of your time, when you're trying to get help. You've got to stand for your self and don't believe everything they tell you. I'm speaking from personal experience here.

thanks, i am not going to give up,i will not spend the next hard to say how long like this,i will not let my love for riding horses let this stop me i will find a great surgeon that wants to fix the problem instead of just mask it with painpills...

You should get more opinions from other Surgeons, there might be something that can be done? Don't give up so easy.
