Does weight loss = hair loss?

I had the Lap Band procedure performed on June 29, 2009 and have since lost 102 pounds - 51 yet to lose (is 140 an acceptable weight at 5'9?  The main concern I am having is I feel I am losing more hair than seems normal, and I see a lot of breakage, especially at the root.  What sort of deficiency could be causing this?  Is there some sort of supplement I should be taking?  I am currently on all liquids (skim milk, 100% fruit juice, soups and water) as the band restricts me from eating solids.

151lbs is the minimum amount of weight for your height. Even with your Lap Band you need to consume 1200 calories a day to prevent malnutrition. Suggest drinking more skim milk and adding skim milk/puree meat to your soup to increase calories and protein. Your weight loss will slow down a bit; however, you will be nutritional balanced.
