Excersise and diet

Hi,
I have just started weight trainning 3x a day. I'm also running 4 days out of the week, ranging from 5-12mi. I'm eating a good balance beteen protein and carbs; I eat 3-4 times a day. I'm eating around 1200 calories; Am I eating enough?
I don't want to loose weight; I want my stomac to look toned and not "flabby." how do I make my stomac look that way and loose the additional fat?
Im also not understanding when people talk about starvation mode; what does the body actually do?
I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks!!

Hey,
Thanks. There are  so many articles and shows out there, it makes it hard to know what nutrition is right for someone of my age. I definately don't skip meals but I always heard the term starvation mode an i just didn't understand.
Again thankyou

For your age, you need 1800-2000 daily. To help with your stomach, do 'crushes' and/or yoga which will tone up your stomach. As you exercise you are building lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so a scale will reflect no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. Measure your waist and hips as a guide for trimming down. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. When you skip meals the body will go into ‘starvation mode’ to protect itself. What happens is the body will try to retain its’ protein, and carbohydrate ‘stores’ within the body and you may not able to lose weight. The body does not know the difference if it is ‘starving’ due to self-infliction (skip meals or very low calorie intake) or environment factors (no food to eat). Hoped this helped you.
