Why can't I stop eating salt?

I bet you haven't heard that one!!!

I love salt! Potatoe chips, bacon, chicken noodle soup, cheez, shrimp... If someone told me I would never eat sweet again I would be fine, but take any of those away and I would cry. I even eat salt crystals like candy sometimes! I drink a ton of water, a few liters a day, I eat organic, no MSG or nitrates and nitrites, I have slightly elevated BP 125/75, I had a heart scan, the one where they take pictures from every side and it was fine. I know this has got to be bad for me, but I have no idea how to stop. HELP!

Although I love sweets as well, I do LOVE salty foods.

Naturally, the neurotic side of me has me concerned I might have some kind of adrenal problem.

I am a salt addict too!!! lol  I look for foods to put salt on and even put it on watermelon. I have tried to cut down some. I know that when I quit one time (2 weeks)and craved it so bad, I went on the worst salt binge ever. I try to use the sea salt instead of regular. It is saltier too and doesn't have a chemical taste. I would like to really cut down much more. People that have quit salt, tell me they really can't stand it anymore. I really would get some sea salt and try to taste food before salting. Good luck.

Well thank you.  I really was hoping I wasn't the only one.  And now that you mention it, I do crave salt more the day after I have alcohol the night before.  Interesting.  And yes I am an Aries.  So now that we have established we are more than one I wonder if there is a solution.  If anyone has advise, I urge you to help!

I'm the same way.  I simply love salt!  And to make matters worse, I don't drink enough water during the day.  When I buy lunch or eat out, I don't even taste the food, until I've added some salt to it first.  I have high blood pressure and I'm sure all this salt is just making it worse.  I don't know what advice to give you.  I just wanted to chime in and let you know you are not alone.
