nutrition and MS

lv7
Hi Dr.
I had a baby 2 years ago and since then have had several symptoms.  I have many MS  symptoms, although have never been diagnosed.  I am very worried about it and I could not afford the medication if I ever was diagnosed.  My question is, can I be doing anything nutrtionally to help myself if this is MS?
Also, I have heard alot about stress and  my symptoms, I find it hard to believe that stress can cause this many symptoms.
Thank you very much.

Vitamins and minerals are not all created equal, there are several web sites to check this out.
I have spent 11 years checking on companies and products. If you contact me at my email, I will share those insights with you.

I am by no means a professional, however, I have experienced some of the same complaints which you are talking about and the frustrations with medical doctors.  With the birth of all three of my children my symptoms got worse.  After 17 different doctors and being told it was fibromyalgia, I also decided to take my health into my own hands.  I found that my cerebullar tonsils were smushed in the base of my skull which was causing my spinal cord to not function properly. Medical term is chiari malformation.  The diagnosis is old but finding it for such mild (HAHA) set of symptoms such as ours is the new part.  I had my surgery 3 years ago and most symptoms have lessoned if not disappeared.  The symptoms that are left I do believe are in some form of nutrition.  Whether it has to do with the glands that produce steroids or food sensitivities.  I am researching both to see if I can find my answer.  I hope you find yours.

I agree with you, I tend to worry about my health also, I think because we have families, we do not have time to feel sick.  I do worry alot, and I also have heard that my symptoms could be stress, but I have a hard time accepting that.  If that is the case, It should be easy to give me something to get rid of the symptoms, that has not happened yet.  I do get accupucture every week, I can not tell if that is helping yet.  I still feel like I have new symptoms all the time.  It sounds like you have very encouraging news from your Drs.  Do you still have several symptoms?  My baby is very active during the day, but sleeps pretty well at night.  I just hope we figure this out soon, I really need to feel better, I am so concerned about MS, I need to get that off my mind and get back to life.  Thank you for your help.

Hi,

When I went to the neuro he did the basic neurological exam but no tests. He felt I really did not show any significang signs of it, or at least anything that was a red flag for him. I tend to run on the anxious side so I think every dr. I meet feels that is the cause. I've been trying to research vitamins and am taking some different ones. I do notice that certain symptoms for me really show up during times of stress and oddly enough the winter season. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago and it has some similar symptoms.

Baby keeping you up?

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your symptoms.  It will be nice to finally have someone to talk to that understands.  You said your symptoms increased after your baby.  Did the Dr do any testing for MS, and why does he think you are having these symptoms?  I feel I have several symptoms. like I said I am very concerned also.  I have seen several different doctors and tried several different things.  I have decided to help myself.  I know that vitamin D is very important, I have started taking that.  Did you find any other information?  Thank you again for sharing your story with me.

Hi,

Justed wanted to know if you wished to share your symptoms. I have had some MS type symptoms over the years but neuro said not to worry. After my 3rd child 3 yrs ago I have had an increase in symptoms. I've just been searching the web to find nutrional supplements that can help to alleviate the symptoms,,there is so much out there, don't know where to begin.

Congrats on the baby!
