Short isn't bad at all...if you think about it, medical records show that being short have some health benefits ie. live longer because the heart doesn't have to do as much work as the taller ones. Blood were able to regulate much more efficient so they tend to be smarter, quicker. Being smaller also easier to get through life and death situation ie. gun fight or hiding from something. Just the oppostie of that the taller ones have a higher risk of heart disease, and so on so forth. So being short is great. I'm saying that through my experience of being short at 5'3" =) focus your attention on your specialties, you'll feel more confident. Enjoy your life and the body that God give you. He always have a reason. Good luck.
AT 24, your growth plates have closed and you won't grow any taller than you are now. There are proceedures to increase height, but they are very painful and take years to achieve growth of a fraction of an inch. Stretching machines claim to fame is that just after the stretching you are actually taller for all of 5 minutes when gravity brings you back to normal. Save your money there. The pills and other supplements out there that claim to make you grow taller, pass them up. They are serving only to make the seller rich. You are what you are. Being the "shorty" in the family may be caused from childhood illness, like hepatitis, or from poor diet during your teenage years, or perhaps from a genetic throw-back to someone on the family tree who was shorter than the family average. The actual cause can only be guessed at. You are what you are. Accepting this can be a difficult road, but you are now on your way. Good luck.
I believe there is nothing you can do short of surgery to make yourself grow any taller, as your growth plates have fused and will no longer allow any future growth.
I would not be too concerned about your height as I am only 5'5 which is only 165 CM and I get alonh just fine in the world. I also find that shorter women tend and children seem to be more at ease with me because of my height.
