Hello!

Due to the superficial anatomical positioning of the ulnar nerve, it is subject to entrapment and injury by a wide variety of causes. It is the second most common entrapment neuropathy in the upper extremity (the first being the median nerve and its branches).

The nerve is the largest unprotected nerve in the human body (meaning, unprotected by muscle or bone), so injury is common.

Correction of ergonomics at work is very important and if physiotherapy helps you can try strengthening the tendons and muscles. Surgical intervention is the last resort.

The conservative treatment should be carried out for 6-12 weeks, depending on your response and if it fails you should opt for surgery.

Discuss with an orthopedician.

Take care!

Hey Jim i seem to have the exact same same issue, I was wondering how you dealt with it and if they gave you surgery or physical therapy. My elbow doctor is sending me to a hand and wrist doctor rather than an elbow doctor because the damage is just the "popped out" medial nerve I believe it is called. I also have no pain and just this little "pop" that occurs if i try to lift objects above my head like a dumbbell and bench press. Thanks for the help!
