Ankle swelling

I'm a 21 year old female athlete, who just noticed ankle swelling in my right ankle. It's on the inside of my ankle and I have no injury to that area whatsoever. I'm also not experiencing any other symptoms so it's kind of mind boggling to me as to why it would be swollen.

Hopefully someone can help!!

Thanks!

Hi,
I am sorry to say but I was just explaining about the possible causes of ankle swelling if you don’t have any local injury.
In your case it might not be possible for a cardiac cause but an evaluation would further tell us regarding that.
I think at this juncture you should be seeing a physician for further evaluation.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.

I feel fine, I haven't had any pain in the ankle or any other symptoms such as tiredness. I am an athlete and I work out a lot, but I haven't had any injuries to my ankles. I'm in good health so this talk about cardiac stuff is a little scary. So I'll keep an eye on it do you think it could possible be something else?

Hi,
How are you feeling?
Do you have any pain? Has your movement compromised due to your ankle swelling?
I think if answers to any of the above question are yes, then it might be due to ankle sprain or pathology involving the ankle.
If answers to above questions are no, then it might be due to either any cardiac compromise or due to decrease protein in your blood.
I think you should be seeing a physician for further evaluation.
Alternatively, you can see a orthopaedician for any further doubts.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.
