Anyone golfing with a total wrist fusion?

I'm considering total fusion on the left wrist and am right handed.  Any comments on how this surgery may affect my golf game?  Life in general?  I'm a 52 year old male and would hope to continue working as a construction electrician.
Comments or questions from someone with a similar demographic, or not, who has had this surgery are much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Hey Jim!

This guy is really into sharing his whole experience with TWF, he has some great pics too. Just search for phill614, I already told him I had someone that would probably be interested - he said please send them on!

Good luck!  JD1963

Thanks for your responses JD 1963.  Yes TWF thread I would absolutely like to post to it.
I'm considering TWF because that is the surgery two orthopedic surgeons recommended.  My left wrist in particular and other joints in my body have degenerated significantly in just the past two years.  Don't misunderstand I've had degenerative joints for many years it just seems that over the last few years some of them are getting to the point of failure.

Hey Jim, I have a poster that is over 4 1/2 years out from your possible surgery. He has his own TWF thread going. Would you like to post with him? I need your approval first.

Thanks  JD1963

Hi Jim, Welcome to MedHelp! I am the Orthopedic Community Leader for this site. That said, I am neither an electrician or a golfer (even though I live a few miles from Myrtle Beach). I personally wouldn't think the loss of ROM (Range of Motion) would take it's toll to badly for your job. The golfing, however, (I would imagine) will be effected. You could try using something like a Carpal Tunnel splint and try to golf to see how it would feel. If you would like any further information from me, please don't hesitate to contact me. If you do would you mind sharing with me why you are considering this surgery? Best wishes! jd1963
