What happens when you don’t treat a Jones fracture?

I was diagnosed with a Jones fracture in July, but couldn’t stick to the treatment of not bearing weight on my foot. I am a Type one diabetic and the conservative method was strongly preferred. It is not causing much pain 4 months later.
