Knee/leg pain

I have developed a terrible pain in my left knee.  The pain seems to start at the back of the knee and travels about 6 - 8 incles down my leg.  I do aerobic and spinning activities regularly.  Can you give me some clue what this is?

Thanks,
Sheila

It could be that you ruptured your plantaris tendon.  Warm, moist heat on the calf will work well for you!  It wouldn't hurt to go see an orthopedic surgeon.  He/she could put you in a boot that will help you walk with less pain while you heal.   Best of luck!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
If it occured after the aerobic and spinning activities the most probable cause is a ligament tear due to a false move. But before coming to a conclusion take rest, anti inflammatory drugs, ice the back of your leg regualarly for couple of days and if you are not relieved with the pain you have to visit an orthopaedician for an examination. Take care!
