lateral meniscus tear and cyst

Another question... I have a torn lateral meniscus and a 1/2 inch by 1 inch cyst on my lateral meniscus. My doctor has never seen an injury like this before so i cant really ask him any questions about it, and my appt. with an ortho. isnt for about another week.
So the question is ... i work overnight stocking and lately its been really painful, my doctor doesnt know if doing this kind of work can make the injury or cyst worse and im wondering if it can, and if i need to slow down at work till i can get a drs note. Every night i get home it hurts worse and the pain is getting more constant, plus i'm starting to get this burning tingly sensation on the side where the cyst and tear are.
Any help would be great.

define extensively... at work i do alot of heavy lifting up to 50 lbs lotsa twisting and turning on my feet and carrying stuff around the store... i also have to pull and push carts and dollies loaded with boxes and stuff.

By knee cap do u mean like a brace? I wear a slip on brace at work most of the time but it doesnt really seem to help much...

Thanks a lot for the info!

Hi, working is fine as long as you are not using the limb extensively. A knee cap will help you too. Decompression of cyst along with repair of meniscal tear is the option. Repair is important as only decompression will lead to recurrence of cyst.

Keep on taking pain killers after meals till you see the doctor.
