Ive been having pressure in my neck for the past several months. About a year ago I was diagnosed with arthritus in my neck between c5 and c6. I had a shooting pain down my arm and into my hand. I did PT for several months and it eventually got better. Now a year later I feel this heavy pressure in the back of my neck....No pain into my arm or in my neck - Just pressure and a slight on and off pain in my shoulder. (I also tore my rotator cuff a few years back).
I generally feel pretty good in the morning and the pressure gets worse as the days goes on. I feel better when laying down as opposed to standing up. In addition at times I feel pressure in my ears. I did go to an ENT for this twice and both times he said my ears were fine. Just prior to the neck issues - I went through a very stressful period.... Not sure if that may have anything to do with it - As it started right around that time....
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your neck pain/ discomfort. Possibilities that may need to be considered include postural issues, spinal causes, neuro-muscular causes such as muscle sprain, nerve impingement, injuries to muscles/ ligaments etc inflammations, fractures/ dislocations, referred pain from other regions, micronutrient deficiencies etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
