Neck of femur fracture pain after surgery

Patient details and fracture details
---------------------
Age: 27 yrs
Cause of fracture: Motor bike accident
Type of fracture: neck of femur fracture (trans-cervical)
Surgery done: 24 hours after fracture
Type of surgery: Closed reduction and internal fixation with 3 cannualted screws

I met with an accident 7 weeks ago and as a result I had a neck of femur fracture in my left hip.
Doctor advised no weight bearing on the injured leg for 6 weeks and only exercises he advised for this period were 1) Ankle exercise (moving the foot up and down)
2) Thigh exercise (pushing the knee down on a rolled up towel)
3) walking with the help of a walker
During this time my condition got better, I had little to no pain while performing regular activities and was optimistic about my condition.

During my appointment with him on the 6th week he suggested 50% load bearing on the injured leg as well as Hip abduction exercise. I performed them for 3 days without much discomfort but from the fourth day onwards my hip got tender. I started feeling pain while standing up  and sitting down. I stopped doing hip abduction due to the pain and reduced the amount of stress I putting on my foot. I don't have any pain while walking with 50% load bearing but all my other daily activities became painful.

My questions are
1) Am I over doing the exercises?
2) Are these expected during load bearing phase?
3) Should I just push forward not minding the moderate  which I am experiencing?
4) Am I developing some kind of complication like AVN?

Note: During the 6th week appointment Doctor refused to take an x-ray his explanation was its too early to get any valuable information from x-rays yet.
