Hello!

It will take couple of hours. Depending on your condition and taking the anesthesia and the surgical procedure time maximum of 2 hours the surgery should be completed.

Discuss all the pros and cons with your surgeon before you go for the surgery.

Take care!

Hello!

Scapholunate advanced collapse (SLAC) of the wrist is the most common pattern of degenerative arthritis in the wrist.

A limited wrist fusion with scaphoid excision is an option.

Discuss with your orthopedic surgeon.

A long arm splint is placed after the procedure.

After seven days, the splint is replaced with a long arm cast, which is maintained for 3 weeks.

Then, a short arm cast is placed and maintained for an additional 2-4 weeks. The cast and wires are removed when fusion is evident on radiographs.

Take care!
