Punched a wall. did some damage...

Recently I became angry and punch a load bearing wall. It appears that my knuckle is pretty much gone on my ring finger, and also it feels dislocated, or extended. I can't make a full fist and my finger appears to be longer and more extended. it drops well below my other finger when I attempt to make a fist. Any ideas to what I've done to myself?

sorry that you didn't get responses quickly.  Most users who post responses try to do some research 1st if they haven't had something similar so that they aren't blindly giving advice that may cause more damage.
My husband hand a similar injury years ago & it's NEVER returned to normal. He still has limited movement & can't make a fist.  When I was a few years younger I had been told that when the anger gets to be too much instead of taking it out on a person EVEN if they deserve it, hit a wall.... well the wall ALWAYS wins & gets the last laugh.  I have permanent damage in both hands, more my right then left as I'm right handed, & have been told by doctors & surgeons that the only way to really fix any of it would have been surgery RIGHT AFTER it occured.

I HIGHLY suggest you get an xray done to determine how bad the damage actually is. It may look a lot worse then it actually is right now due to swelling which is your bodys way to protect itself.

PLEASE get it checked out & post what the xrays show or what the dr's say & then perhaps we can be of more help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Do not meddle around with your injured hand. Wear finger splints on all the fingers injured and go for an X-ray immediately.

An orthopedician will assess your damage and will give the right advice after seeing your X-rays.

Take pain killers and apply ice packs to give you complete relief.

Take care!
