Radial Head Replacement surgery 3 times still sufferring pain and loss of Mob?

New to the forum...In late February I took a really bad fall and shattered my right radial head and tore two ligaments. My elbow was dislocated of course so they realigned me best as they could and a week later I had a radial head prosthesis put in and they were able to fix one ligament but the other was unrepairable and could not be reversed. After 6 weeks and 4 weeks of OT my surgeon told me my elbow joint was frozen so they went back in and replaced the existing prosthesis with another. Two weeks later my elbow became unstable again, therefore resulting a 3rd yet successful surgery. OT continued through all this and after my last surgery in late April. I did pretty well and did get a lot of mobility back at least 50%...Bummed because it is my dominant arm but i adaoted. I was dismissed in June from OT bc my surgeon and OT therapist felt they had reached a point where I was as far I could get. I continued to do stretches at home and used it as much as I can although since dismissal from OT I still was unable to eat, wash my hair, brush my teeth, push/pull/lift more than 5 lbs with my right arm.

About 3 weeks ago I began to experience high pain levels, my mobility began to taper off (gets worse daily), and arm is swelling more than it has since the surgeries. I've been on pain meds the whole time, but have managed to take them at night only for quite sometime but now I find it painful around the clock.

My surgeon has mentioned possibly going back in in a year to loosen things up some.

Question, should I be seeking additional opinions or what should I do about these new symptoms . I realize after 3 surgeries I understand my options are limited and I get I'm suffering one of the most serious elbow injuries that my surgeon and his colleagues ever seen, just want some answers and clarity on why the pain and swelling and mobility loss has returned? Help any ideas welcomed

My gosh, what an awful fall and injury.  I'm really sorry this has happened to you.  I must say that your attitude is great.  I personally would seek a second opinion.  The around the clock pain and again increasing loss of mobility shouldn't be acceptable.  I'd follow up for other options.  Let us know what happens.

Thank you. I'm beginning to think second opinions are due. I am getting maybe 4 to 5 hours of sleep bc of the pain. It's so frustrating!!!
