Hello again. The MRI that I asked about had been my second as the original injury happened in May. The first MRI showed bone contusions and that was it. After over two months of being in the walking boot, I had done PT in which my foot kept getting worse. That's why I went back for the MRI that I posted above. My dr chose to put me in a walking boot for another 6 weeks. That brought it to nov 25. After that I did my own PT at home. It was still hurting a bit but I thought I had to build it up again. For a while it seemed to be getting better and then now it's just getting worse. What do you think is going on? What would you think my next treatment would be?
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. The bony contusions can be managed conservatively and so can the ligament tear. Usually if there is no bony displacement, a short leg walking cast or a non weight bearing cast is applied for about 6 weeks. After this ambulization, graded weight bearing and physiotherapy is started, which may take another 4-6 weeks for complete healing and return to normal activities. However, please discuss the best treatment option for you with your doctor.
Hope this helps. Take care!
