What is synovitis?????

Was wondering what exactly is it and can it occur after surgery? Is it something that should get looked at?
I had a bone scan and a regular x-ray and this was the impression.

Well my bone scan said mild increased activity, rather diffuse, right wrist suggesting either postsurgical  uptake or possibility synovitis
Then my x-rays said
postsurgical changes likely account for the minor asymmetry of activity seen right wrist on bone scan same date Synovitis a possibility to account for this mild asymmetric increased activity on bone scan.

I have been taking nsaids for along time now. and nothing has helped. I have also used Voltaren gel, Lyrica, topamax nothing has helped the pain I am having in my wrist.

Hello!

The synovium is the lining of the joints, and when inflamed, the condition called synovitis is the result.

It can result after trauma and surgery.

Specific treatment is based upon both the presumed cause of the synovitis and your level of response to anti inflammatory medications ranging from ibuprofen to steroids.

Take care!
