fractured L2

I had a fracture of the L2 two years ago from a fall from a horse.  I have tried many things and now the doctor says the fracture did not heal all the way.  They also say I have posterior disc bulges at L3-L4-L5 and L5-S1.  Now they say I need a spinal fusion but I am scared to death.  Laser Spine Institute says they can fix without surgery for $30,000 but my insurance will not pay for it and I have heard too many bad things about tje, especially when they say that they cannot fix the fracture, only the bulges.  I would like to know if the bulges could have been caused by the accident or from a back disease because of my age? Thanks for helping me understand this.  I have had MRI's, CT's, Steriod injections and a verteoplasty.  Steriods helped a little, all else including chiropractor did no good.  If I have it done in Nov. do I have a good chance to be OK for lambing time in March?  Hope to put in the garden in April.  Already 3 surgeries related to this accident.  after 2 of them on my shoulder - found out I had a rare fracture of the coracoid process that left a bone fragment.  Shoulder pain is better but I will never regain my rom.  oh well, I just want to be able to work on the ranch again.  Would love to ride again, but my husband might shoot me.  hehe.  thanks again

Hello!

You need an MRI and expert radiologist comments on perfectly understanding your back problem.
Then you need to follow up near an orthopedic surgeon for surgery.

The bulges which you are mentioning are prolapsed inter vertebral disc and they occur due to pressure on spine and due to the wear and tear you had all throughout your life and it surely aggravated with the fall from the horse and is connected with further damage to all the adjacent vertebra.

Take a second opinion before you proceed.

Take care!
